Sanctuary

that place where
yielding
can mean
something
other than defeat

  1. It's good to be able to find your way home.

  2. I yield all the time and have never been defeated. But then my sanctuary is one of those fold up traveling things that always looks for the highest ground.

aporia-it's good when home can be a sanctuary, and it's good to be able to find one's way there. thanks for the visit and the comment
wm-- you are a lucky man.... and likely a man who knows how to make his own luck. where ever you go, there you are. :)

  5. We are at the apex of our powers and youth, a glorious and elaborate lie: all bathed in elegance and ease. All the tearing and rushing urge of our millions of years of struggle distilled to this thin bony ankle, poised waiting at the curb, to do as the effortless will commands. So where, and for what do we return to that which we must eventually? Where and what is abidance ultimately: sanctuary? Is it not in a kind of release of vigilance of the timeless hungers and ambitions... a return to the things torn for purpose, but good for other things? A yielding to strength of the simple: in spite of our kaleidoscopic self.
