  1. .... and after only one day back in the saddle, it's more obvious than ever that the respectful workplace and learning environment policy that i work under is somewhat misunderstood...

i am sooo glad that i had a few days of relative sanity and perspective to prepare me for the next few months of utter delight

  2. The Golden Rule has a history of sometimes becoming tarnished, methinks.

  3. Gold does not tarnish.
The bastards with the gold should be tarred.

  5. If a wooden subject, such as carpentry, should not too tarnish this very witty, and wise bunch too much.... All I can say is.. it is often recommended, in my trade, that you stick with one rule (or tape measure) and don't switch to another, for, even in this age of automated everything, a bit of the exception seems to have crept between the lines of every standard.

What is the rule, by which the rules are ruled?
(The nice thing about the Golden Rule to me is the silent fact that it is worthless to apply it to others. Somewhat distinct, don't you think, from the tendencies of my nature.)

On the subject of work: when the wise tell me, "work is love made visible," I don't know whether to feel more burdened than ever (depressed) or lightened by what my absurd schedule intimates. Are you a "lovaholic" or at the edges of the bell curve that such a nugget of "golden" wisdom presumes, surely.

    Love your blog
